The Stag Weekend Grew Up. So Did the Venue.

A grown up stage do in the Lakes

You’re not 25 anymore. Nobody wants to share a bunk bed in a city-centre flat. Nobody wants a club night that ends at 6am. Nobody wants to spend Sunday feeling like they’ve been wrung out.

What you actually want is this.

Sixteen of you. A Grade II listed house in the Lake District. A 7-seat hot tub in its own building in the garden. An 18-seat cinema in the cellar. A 3-oven AGA in the kitchen. A dining table that seats 20.

That’s Bannerrigg.

The stag weekend, done properly.

Bannerrigg sits on The Terrace in Windermere. Five minutes’ walk from the village. Two minutes from Booths if someone needs to do a proper shop. The kind of house that makes you stop in the doorway when you arrive.

It sleeps 16. There’s room for everyone.

What does a 40-plus stag actually look like?

It looks like a long breakfast on Saturday morning. Eggs from the AGA. Good coffee. No rush. The kind of morning you’ve earned.

It looks like a walk. The Lake District is the UK’s adventure playground. Get out in it. Orrest Head is on the doorstep. Hire a bike. Do a swim at Miller Ground. Get some proper air in your lungs before the evening starts.

It looks like a proper dinner at the big oak table. All 16 of you. Good food, good wine, a few speeches nobody will ever repeat in public.

Then it looks like the hot tub. And then the cinema downstairs. Pick something good. The seats are comfortable. There’s no curfew.

Why the Lake District?

Because it’s different. No package-holiday sameness. No concrete and noise. Just hills, water, and wide open space.

Windermere village has brilliant restaurants — Homeground for breakfast, Hooked for fresh fish, The Crafty Baa for a drink and some sharing plates (voted best small pub in Britain, since you’re asking).

You can do as much or as little as you like. That’s the whole point.

The honest bit.

Bannerrigg isn’t a party house with thin walls and plastic furniture. It’s a proper house, treated with proper care. We ask that guests treat it that way too.

But that’s not a problem for a group like yours. You’re past the stage of needing reminding.

Book it. Do it properly. Make the memories.

Don’t wait for the right moment. Book the weekend. It’ll be the right moment.
